The HooDoo story.
A Fairbanks brewery shaped by homebrewing, formal brewing education, European beer traditions, professional production, and a return home to Alaska.
Born in Fairbanks. Built to brew world-class beer.
Founder Bobby Wilken grew up in Fairbanks and began brewing while attending college in Montana. He later studied brewing in Chicago and Munich and traveled through major European brewing regions to see traditional breweries first hand.
After returning to Alaska, Bobby worked at Alaskan Brewing Company in Juneau in brewing, quality control, and recipe development. Bobby and Jessica Wilken returned to Fairbanks in 2011 and built HooDoo Brewing Company, bringing that experience home.
A 15-barrel heart.
HooDoo's custom steam-heated, three-vessel Premier Stainless system supports infusion and decoction mashing. Its cellar uses oversized fermentation and bright tanks for maturation, conditioning, and natural carbonation.

The open taproom puts guests right next to the brewing operation, with fresh beer served only a few steps from where it was made.

Gemütlichkeit, Fairbanks style.
Inspired by Bavaria and southern Germany, the Biergarten is built around local food, fresh beer, old friends, new friends, fire pits, and covered outdoor space.
